I founded ReStyle after noticing how I didn't like the way I was consuming fashion anymore. So I started to think there must be another way. I joined VentureLab which is an Entrepreneur Program in Groningen in December and launched a first prototype of ReStyle in December 2021. Since then, we grew the team, the community, hosted events and are gaining insights day by day of our customers.

ReStyle is a fashion rental platform for students in Groningen!

Through ReStyle you can rent clothing items and get them delivered to your door. We make sure the clothes are clean and of good quality, so you can start right away to wear them out and explore your style! When your renting period is over, the items are simply collected again and you get your new ones delivered. It’s as simple as this!

ReStyle is a way to explore new styles in a fun way while doing something good for the environment.

With the alternative of renting, we want to reduce the shocking numbers of textile waste in the world by raising awareness about conscious wardrobe choices.

Wat zijn jouw volgende stappen om het verder te ontwikkelen? / What are your next steps to develop the initiative?

We want to make renting the “New Normal” – but until now we are all used to buying clothes.

That’s why we want to learn about our community, which exists of open-minded, fashionable people. What attracts them to test out a new way of consuming fashion? What type of clothes are wanted and for what time period and price?

Finding answers to questions like these is important as our next step.

So that, together, we can to start a journey of consciously adapting our lives to a more sustainable one and do something good for us and our planet. Through renting, we can exhaust the textile’s lifespan and use resources and materials as long as possible.

On our social channels, we will continue to raise awareness for renting and giving educational tips and tricks about sustainability during our daily life in general. Furthermore, we will join networks, events, associations etc. to grow our community.

Wat heb je nodig om (nog meer) impact te maken met dit initiatief? / What do you need to make (more) impact with this initiative?

We learned quickly that collaboration and joining forces is key. To raise awareness, we need to grow our community and deepen insights into how the concept must look like exactly to fit the customer’s needs.

We will partner up with fellow entrepreneurs from VentureLab that are in the sustainable fashion market. We all have different ideas, however are working with the same passion and for the same goals.

The more people join our journey, the bigger our impact can be.
