Our muscles are shy! They are silent most of the time, but once they start complaining, it often signifies a problem that has escalated too far. This is the reason that over 1.7 billion people are living with muscle conditions right now, according to World Health Organization.
To combat this issue and enhance our overall movement well-being, it is critical to have a solution that can access the deep muscle level states (key point 1, in where the injury happens), such as muscle forces and fatigue levels, in our daily life (key point 2, at when the injury happens). Existing solutions tend to only address one of the two key points. For instance, the laboratory motion capture setups could access accurate muscle information but are too complex and bulk, making them impractical for daily use. Conversely, smartwatches are wearable on a daily basis, but can only count steps, lacking the ability to interpret muscle-level information.
wearM.AI offers a unique and patented solution that encompasses both key points! We have developed a pair of smart shoes that are designed for everyday wear. It is equipped with tiny sensors (hardware) and state-of-the-art muscle digital models (software). A demonstration video can be seen here.
Our solution caters to two primary market segments: injury prevention and injury rehabilitation. In the field of injury prevention, our target customers include fitness enthusiasts, professional athletes, and elderly individuals. Our solution functions as a comprehensive movement health manager, providing real-time updates on muscle status and offering personalized exercise suggestions. In the realm of injury rehabilitation, our target customers are physiotherapists in rehabilitation centers. Our solution provides a remote evaluation tool for them to remotely get to know the recovery status of patients each day and supports faster and more personalized treatments.

wearM.AI has been successfully spined off from UT in mid-June. We have already developed and implemented our first prototype, and we are currently focused on refining and enhancing the second version. This updated version will enable us to conduct targeted testing with our intended customers.
With the second version prototype, we would like to test it in a broader target group, including rehabilitation centers. This expanded testing phase will enable us to gather valuable feedback, validate our solution in real-world scenarios, and further refine our product to meet the specific needs of our customers.to test our second version prototype at a wider target group, including rehabilitation centers.
