Heb je jouw initiatief al gevalideerd? / Did you validate your initiative?

Yes, we have successfully validated our initiative and are now in the validation phase. By actively listening to market needs and adapting based on customer feedback, we have confirmed a strong demand for our service through online viewings conducted via video calls and recordings. Our Uni View business model operates on a transaction fee basis. Currently, each viewing is priced at €15.99, with €9 allocated as compensation for the Viewer and €6.99 retained by Uni View as commission. While this pricing is grounded in market research, we continuously explore potential adjustments. Additionally, as part of the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, we are currently not incurring any commission fees for Stripe. Since its official start a month ago, Uni View has rapidly expanded, with Viewers available in Maastricht, Rotterdam, and Utrecht. We have 112 registered users, 16 viewings performed in Maastricht, 10 paying customers, and 12 registered Viewers.

Uni View ensures property verification and safeguards against scams, allowing students to explore housing options in Dutch University cities without needing to travel solely for a viewing. Additionally, they benefit from the insights of someone who already knows the city and can answer any questions. Viewings can be conducted via video call or pre-recorded video, depending on the customer’s preference.

We are proud to have an office in Qeske and be an active part of its entrepreneurial community, which further enhances our network and growth opportunities.

Uni View offers a unique and innovative solution to a previously unaddressed problem. Unlike existing solutions, our approach is both simple and effective. As members of the student community, we deeply understand the struggles and needs of our target market. This insider perspective allows us to design and deliver a service that truly resonates with and addresses the specific concerns of our audience.

Uni View also offers students the possibility of having access to a flexible side hustle, giving them not only an economic boost but also a sense of fulfillment and community by helping other students. 

Wat zijn jouw volgende stappen om het verder te ontwikkelen? / What are your next steps to develop the initiative?

Our next steps to further develop the initiative involve expanding our reach to other Dutch cities by establishing partnerships, promoting our services with local universities, student ambassadors, student associations, and influencers, and raising awareness around Uni View. Through targeted marketing campaigns, we plan to solidify our presence in the market and provide valuable solutions to students across the Netherlands.

Given Uni View’s reach, we aim to onboard a second Software Developer to ensure a secure back end and enhance the website’s features. To achieve this, we will need to secure the necessary funds and investments to support our growth and marketing efforts and pay the salaries of our employees.

We need to expand our geographical presence to make a greater impact with this initiative. By extending our reach, we can assist more students and have a more significant positive influence on their lives. This expansion will enable us to support more students, addressing their specific needs and improving their overall experience.
