We are currently conducting extensive market research to validate our concept. This includes distributing a detailed survey among students and recent graduates to better understand the skills gap they face and their interest in a personalized upskilling platform. In parallel, we are engaging in conversations with companies and academic institutions to assess their needs when it comes to employee development, curriculum alignment, and labor market forecasting.

Wat is er anders/nieuw aan jouw idee/oplossing t.o.v. bestaande oplossingen? / What is different/new about your idea/solution compared to existing solutions??

Most existing platforms either focus on listing job openings, offering generic online courses, or analyzing skills retrospectively. SkillSight is different because it is proactive, data-driven, and personalized. We use real-time regional labor market data to forecast which skills will be in demand in the near future, and then provide users with AI-generated, tailored upskilling suggestions based on their individual profiles.

Unlike LinkedIn Learning or general job boards, SkillSight brings together students, companies, and academic institutions in one ecosystem — offering each group customized insights and tools. For example, companies can identify internal skill gaps and train employees accordingly, while educational institutions can align their curricula based on actual labor trends.

In short, SkillSight turns skill development from a reactive guess into a strategic, forward-looking advantage.

Wat zijn jouw volgende stappen om het verder te ontwikkelen? / What are your next steps to develop the initiative?

Our next steps focus on turning research into action.

In Q3 2025, we’ll finalize the labor market database and start interviewing students, graduates, and companies to validate the skills gap.

By Q4 2025, we’ll focus on aligning the skills needed by employers with those offered through education, and begin updating our database accordingly.

In Q1 2026, we move into product design — defining platform features and ensuring a consistent user experience — followed by the start of MVP development.

Finally, in Q2 2026 and beyond, we will integrate AI into our system, finalize the backend/frontend development, and run pilot testing to ensure SkillSight is impactful and ready for broader adoption.

Wat heb je nodig om (nog meer) impact te maken met dit initiatief? / What do you need to make (more) impact with this initiative?

To make greater impact, we need three key things:

  1. Strategic partnerships with companies, universities, and regional organizations to access real-world insights, broaden our user base, and ensure our platform is aligned with market needs.
  2. Technical and financial support to develop, test, and scale the AI-driven features of our MVP — especially the skills gap analyzer and forecasting engine.
  3. Visibility and user engagement, which we aim to grow through outreach, pilot programs, and continued validation with our target groups.
