myTofu produces tofu from dutch organic soybeans which is infused with fresh vegetables and spices to enhance the flavour naturally. This creates a final product with a simplified cooking experience and a ready-to-cook product out of the package for the end-consumer!

myTofu products are easy to use and simplifies the cooking experience with tofu tremendously Instead of purchasing plane tofu which needs to be pressed, marinated and prepared in a specific way to have a tasty meal, with myTofu you only need to take the tofu out of the packaging, put it in the pan with some olive oil or butter, fry it for a couple of minutes and ready is your plant-based, high protein meat substitute.

The tofu is produced using local ingredients and most notably we use soybeans which are organically grown in the north of the Netherlands.

myTofu created a unique production process which can not be found anywhere on the market at this moment. The flavour comes solely from fresh vegetables and spices which gives the tofu a unique taste and texture without making use of additives.

myTofu is trying to contribute at the protein transition to more plant-based meat alternatives and with our products we want to make a traditional protein source from Asia more popular in the Netherlands.

myTofu participated in at several events to validate the idea and most recently also competed at the Tilburg University Challenge where myTofu won the Business Ready award which was another validation its potential

The myTofu production process does not exist anywhere on the market.

Furthermore, currently, no other company produces tofu using dutch and organic soybeans for their production.

Fake meats do exist in abundance on the market, however these come with some negatives like additives, bad nutritional values and sometimes a synthetic taste which is not the case with myTofu

Finally, the taste is substantially better from what currently is being sold by the competition due to the natural ingredients used in the tofu production process

Wat zijn jouw volgende stappen om het verder te ontwikkelen? / What are your next steps to develop the initiative?

myTofu is currently working on setting up a small production line to increase capacity.

We recently found a food-graded production location in Eindhoven which helps to increase production capacity from 7kg/production in the student kitchen to 50-90kg/production at the new location

This increase in production capacity comes from the purchase of a small scale production line which is currently under way to Eindhoven.

We expect to be operational at the beginning of August and expect to be ready to start selling to B2C and B2B a few weeks later once the production process is optimized and the right certificates have been obtained

Wat heb je nodig om (nog meer) impact te maken met dit initiatief? / What do you need to make (more) impact with this initiative?

To make a bigger impact and help the transition away from the highly polluting mass meat production industry, myTofu needs to get exposure to make a name for itself in the alternative food innovation space. Furthermore, finding the right sales channels is crucial for the success and impact creation of myTofu. Finally, since the food production industry is a highly capital intensive market, myTofu will need some funding at some point in the future for the next scale up phase.
