Mosaic addresses the growing problem of superficiality and emotional disconnection on traditional social media platforms by creating a space where users can express their inner world authentically. Through daily thought sharing, users generate a personalized AI visual mosaic that reflects their current mood, paired with a song and optional quote. On Mosaic, a person begins or ends their day by reflecting on how they feel and writing a thought, which the AI transforms into a personalized visual mosaic. They can add a song that captures the mood, and choose whether to share it with close friends or enter Match Mode to discover others feeling something similar. From there, conversations can naturally unfold. Sometimes it’s a quiet moment of resonance, other times a surprising connection with a stranger who just gets it. One user might journal their thoughts privately while another receives a message that says, “This post felt like me too.” Unlike traditional feeds, Mosaic becomes a living emotional map, a space allowing for deep, meaningful conversations, the type you would have at 3 a.m. with your bestie. Instead of likes or follows, Mosaic tracks conversations started as its core metric, shifting the focus from performance to genuine interaction.

Unlike Instagram or Twitter, which emphasize performance and aesthetics, and diary apps, which are private, Mosaic blends emotional expression with real connection. It lets users share honest thoughts in a safe, stylized format and connects them with others feeling similarly — unlike BeReal or Locket, which focus on visual presence. Mosaic is built for meaningful, mood-based conversations, not likes.

Wat zijn jouw volgende stappen om het verder te ontwikkelen? / What are your next steps to develop the initiative?

Our next step is to build the MVP with the core features: daily thought-sharing, a feed of mosaics, and direct chats, to conduct longitudinal testing. This will help us observe how users naturally interact, what drives meaningful conversations, and which features foster the most authentic engagement.

To make more impact with Mosaic, we need a committed technical co-founder, early funding or support for development, and access to communities open to emotional expression for initial testing.
