At Luper, we build industrial air-cleaning systems with a focus on volatile organic compounds (VOCs), a group of carbon-based chemicals known for their extremely harmful effects on human health and the environment.

Our systems are based on the natural cleaning mechanism of the Earth’s atmosphere, but then concentrated and accelerated more than a million times. As a result, where normally a pollutant is broken down in a month in the outside air, our system does this in just two seconds.

This technique is effective, produces no harmful waste, and is unique in the world of air cleaning systems, enabling us to significantly impact human health and the environment.

As a result, we have strong ambitions for 2028:

  • 10.000.000 m3 of air cleaned per hour;
  • 1.000.000 ton CO2-eqs captured per year;
  • 1.000 tons of hazardous air pollutants avoided per year.

Our AirGuard system revolutionizes the field of air cleaning with its unique energy-efficient, eco-friendly, and effective approach, far outperforming traditional methods such as activated carbon, thermal oxidation, and wet scrubbers.

The conventional activated carbon method, where the air is forced through densely packed carbon, demands immense energy, making it inefficient. Furthermore, it yields highly flammable, toxic carbon residues that are harmful and require frequent regeneration or replacement through burning, resulting in significant CO2 and NO2 emissions.

On the other hand, thermal oxidation necessitates the combustion of waste gas with added natural gas, leading to exorbitant costs and high levels of CO2 and NO2 emissions.

Wet scrubbers are suitable for very limited applications. They absorb toxic compounds in the liquid medium through which air is circulated, creating toxic wastewater that needs careful treatment.

In stark contrast, our AirGuard system operates solely on energy to cleanse the air. Our innovative process takes place entirely in the gaseous phase, negating the need for air to be forced through solid mediums, thus saving substantial energy. We transform hazardous pollutants into harmless molecules, generating non-toxic byproducts that can be further utilized in anaerobic digestion or fertilizers. Consequently, AirGuard is not only cost-effective to operate, but it also guarantees zero harmful environmental impacts while detoxifying the air.
