Meer informatie over jouw initiatief / More info about your initiative
With society becoming more aware of cross contamination and hygiene along with looking after maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle, office workers and students have to resort to purchasing unhealthy lunches at extraordinary prices during their working day. Fridgey solves this problem allowing people to rent individual fridge space in a smart locker to store their lunches and meals in throughout the day saving time, money and calories!
Whilst some offices boast a single fridge in their staff room, everyone who we have spoken to has said this is far from user-friendly. Stories include, food being left in their too long, unclean conditions, cross contamination and even food and drink being stolen! This issue is even more problematic in shared work spaces in cities and even there are discussions online regarding the poor fridge offerings available at prominent shared workspace locations. We will bring fridges to the 21st century, making university and office life more efficient for workers and students alike.
Wat zijn jouw volgende stappen om het verder te ontwikkelen? / What are your next steps to develop the initiative?
The next steps for Fridgey include developing our first prototype of the unit. We aim to purchase off the shelf locker units and build bespoke cooling units in each part fitted with a smart locker system working alongside the Fridgey app.
We have already potential contacts cooling companies to assist with the cooling elements. We have also made contact with Venture Lab and the Hanze, the latter of which mentioned they could provide interns to come on board and help develop the first prototype and increase Fridgey’s presence within universities. We have also conducted market research through speaking to external companies and received very positive feedback from the innovation manager at T-Mobile and some fellow start up CEOs who are very interested in the idea and some said they are willing to invest in the concept.
Wat heb je nodig om (nog meer) impact te maken met dit initiatief? / What do you need to make (more) impact with this initiative?
In order to make more impact with the initiative we are a very coachable team and would be looking for funding in order to develop a high quality first prototype which we can use to approach buyers and investors alike.
