We have currently just launched our first pilot with our first chef and in only 4 days of him being active until now while only working about 4 hours each time he generated over 40 orders and earned over 400 Euros in revenue in less than a week. Since we started marketing Homemade with our very limited budget in Enschede we have had over 80 chefs sign up for our platform of which 5 that have finalized their KVK registration and are getting ready to join our platform in the next few weeks. We have also talked to many potential customers and chefs to understand to a very high extent what they want to see on the platform. We have found the main concerns for customers are that food delivery is currently expensive, lacks diversity as well as Healthy options. As well as we found that in the context of ordering from a home chef they would want more freshness, tastiness and to have a high level of food safety. We believe that over the next months we will be able to validate further and scale across Enschede and further expand across different dutch cities due to its excellent biking infrastructure that will allow chefs to deliver themselves to their neighbors.

We are building a new kind of food delivery platform that connects people who love to cook from home to those who want to buy high-quality and affordable food. Our chefs deliver themselves to a 1.5KM radius around them to have an emission-free, faster, and more personal delivery experience which we have been missing over the last few years. Our goal is to make food delivery more tasty, healthy, and fresh all while helping our local community earn money from something they love to do. We believe that especially now in times of rising inflation and recession fears it has never been more relevant to support the local economy and to make this initiative a reality for millions of people that love to cook from home and want to make extra money out of it .At Homemade we really go the extra mile with our chefs where we help them register as their own business as well as become HACCP compliant. As well as we help them brand themselves to help them stand out to their potential customers as well as we help them pick and price their menues.

The next steps is to further expand across Enschede with at least 10 different chefs then further expand across different cities in Netherlands as well as raise funds to expand to different European markets to make the impact even bigger

Wat heb je nodig om (nog meer) impact te maken met dit initiatief? / What do you need to make (more) impact with this initiative?

We need support from local municiplaties to make our initiative more known and make it more affordable for chefs to start. We also need in a later stage funding to develop our app and subsidize the process of becoming a chef for people who cannot afford it.
